Professional life …
Following a long career in finance, I'm proud to be building a boutique style advice Practice that makes a difference to peoples lives. I particularly love working with clients to create a master plan using financial forecasting technology to help them achieve their goals. This clever software allows me to plot my clients life and financial goals to work out what the future could look like. In some cases it provides real reassurance that they are on track and in others it highlights what more they need to do to achieve their dreams. It is without doubt a highlight in the financial planning process.
Prior to launching Yorkshire Financial Planning, I joined Nationwide Building Society in 2002 after completing my degree in Theology. I began advising clients in 2007 and remained in a regulated role throughout my time there. Over the years I have met with many clients who need help, support and advice. I’ve helped them by having the right conversations, explaining things simply and keeping them informed every step of the way. It’s important to me to always work on the premise that I’ll only recommend something if;
- I genuinely believe it’s right
- It’s what I’d recommend to my own family and friends in the same situation.
This ethos led me to be nominated for ‘Employee of the Year’ and ‘Trusted Adviser’ national recognition whilst at Nationwide.
Leading Regulated Advice academies was a career highlight for me. Helping new advisers become qualified and training them to the high standards required was a real pleasure. I still hear from my mentees and it literally makes me fizz with pride at what they have achieved. My own professional development continues to be important and I expect to achieve Charted status in 2024.
