Hull FC PDRL Team
In 2024, we're excited to announce our sponsorship of the Hull FC Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL). PDRL offers a full-contact version of rugby adapted for individuals with physical disabilities, providing access to the running game of Rugby League. While full contact tackles are part of the game, those with disabilities limiting full contact play under Touch RL tackle rules are identified by wearing red shorts. A maximum of two physically disabled players can be on the field at any time, playing under Touch RL rules.
We're proud to support inclusivity and accessibility in sports through our
sponsorship of PDRL.
Friends of Holme School
In 2024, Jo became a Governor for the local primary school and is also a committee member of the Friends of Holme School charity.
The school is currently fund raising for the 'Opal Project' which aims to renovate and refurbish the playground, and it's outside spaces to enhance both play and education. Plans include: a tree school, a growing area and various other enhancements. Through her roles, Jo has taken part in various fund raising activities, is the lead Governor for the Opal project and is supporting the committee with grant writing amongst other things. Supporting and educating the next generation is fundamental to what we do and Jo absolutely loves getting involved with her local community to support the school.
Hessle Hedgehogs
If Caroline had decided against a career in Financial Adviser we could guarantee her calling would have been to work with animals.
Through this love of nature and its myriad of animals Caroline proudly
volunteers for Hessle Hedgehogs which is a small volunteer run hedgehog sanctuary based in Hessle.
Yorkshire Financial Planning sponsor a hutch at the hospital and help with fund raising whilst Caroline works on various projects with the committee
from calendar design to social media. Her garden is also one of the local
release sites for when the hedgehogs are ready to re-enter the big wide world.
Hessle West Open Gardens
With Caroline being based in Hessle, it means we are always on the look out to find ways to support local events. In 2022 & 2023, Caroline opened her garden alongside other residents to welcome visitors. Yorkshire Financial Planning provided each entrant with a packet of bee friendly cosmos seeds helping our little buzzy friends to find food late in summer. The day saw over 1000 people visit raising a healthy amount for charities based in the area.
Pancreatic Cancer UK
Jo is currently in training to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. Her sponsorship money is destined for Pancreatic Cancer UK who helped support one of our clients with her diagnosis. I’m sure you’ll join us in wishing Jo luck!
Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards
October 2023 brought the opportunity to attend the Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards to recognise the remarkable efforts of children across the county. In total over £96,000 was raised on the night for the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation who support local charities and put on the event.
St Luke's Hospice
In September 2023, Jo joined friends to fearlessly abseil 160 feet down the Owen Building in Sheffield, to raise funds for the remarkable St Luke’s Hospice. Their bravery paid off as they managed to raise over £3,600 to support St Luke's Hospice in their mission to provide vital care and comfort to families going through the challenges of a terminal illness.
1Y Anniversary Celebration
September 2022 saw us hold an exclusive client event to celebrate our first year as a business. We enjoyed samples of local wine and cheeses at the very picturesque Little Wold Vineyard based just up the road in South Cave. We can’t wait for our next celebration!
Thirsk Birds of Prey Centre
2022 saw us sponsor Pablo, a burrowing owl at Thirsk Birds of Prey Centre. Owl conservation is close to our heart so it’s great to be able to support this Yorkshire based centre. Take a visit if you fancy a day out!
Amy's House
Christmas 2021 saw us reach out to our clients for them to nominate a charity for a cash donation. Amy’s House based in Sheffield supports and cares for children with special needs and their families. Mrs M was delighted that we chose her nominated charity and the money went towards kitting out a new sensory room.
